The IOSH Offshore Group are pleased to host a new webinar titled 'Offshore Energy Emergency Response'.
Delegates will hear from a current coastguard officer with extensive experience in preparation and response to offshore energy emergencies. The presentation will explain what HM Coastguard expect from the energy industries and how they are structured to respond to any emergencies. While focusing on UK procedures, delegates from other areas will benefit from attending to appreciate the overall challenges faced when operating in remote areas and the presentation will include work which has been undertaken across Europe and further afield. The UK is one of the leading countries with significant Oil and Gas and Offshore Renewables infrastructure and experience has been established since both industries were in their infancy.
The content will include an overview of the HM Coastguard network, address some of the challenges facing SAR resources when operating in the harsh offshore environment, highlight training and exercises being undertaken to better understand and prepare for operations offshore, suggest ways to receive mutual support and to consider what developments may come in the future to assist with offshore emergency response.
